Disney is working with Accenture Interactive (AI) to evolve the engagement between cinema goers and movie posters, unveiling a facial recognition photo booth to promote the studio's live-action remake of Dumbo. In order to develop a compelling experience within a limited footprint, Accenture tapped Echelon Design. Echelon created an immersive activation based on the film's production design, wherein AI's propriety "magic movie poster" could capture and copy participant expressions, from sad to happy, to then present them with pictures of Dumbo expressing the same emotion. The activation initially launched at SXSW 2019, while secondary booth was featured at the film's red carpet premiere.
