Overview
From Cogs & Marvel
When Bank of the West invited us to design an experiential activation to showcase their sustainability mission, we knew we had to do more than tell the story. We had to demonstrate eco-activism in every detail of the event. The pop art cigarette machine was designed to capture, in a single image, the idea of your dollars flowing into a bank, and then flowing out as waste, in this case, the microplastics generated by the tobacco industry. We worked with a local artist to construct the machine with 100% recycled materials and to give it a second life as a piece of art at the bank’s HQ. All photos were printed on compostable board. The food we sourced was local and organic. And the botanicals we used in the photo booth were all day-old blooms not deemed fit for sale by the florist. By approaching our creative ideas and fabrication in this manner, we ‘walked the walk’ in an activation that might otherwise have contradicted the very message of the event.
