Jack White at Kings Theatre

For his 2018 tour, Jack White wanted to ensure that his connection with the audience could be as direct as possible. To achieve this, he approached Yondr to make every concert phone-free. "My shows are sort of like a stand-up comedian’s, where if I don’t hear the laughter, I don’t really know what to do next. It’s hard to be engaged if you have something in your hand." The show at the historic King's Theater in Brookyln was at the tail end of the tour, which saw Yondr staff on the ground at every venue. Stationed just before security in the lobby during entry, our production team explained to audiences that the night would be phone-free, Yondr'd phones into pouches, and then unlocked them for egress after the event. "I just played in Brooklyn and I haven’t seen a louder, more engaged New York crowd in 12 years. People just absolutely love it - the first song you play you can tell the difference."
