Overview
From The Grant Access
In June 2020, NIKE, Inc. announced a $40 million commitment over four years to the Black community and will deepen this commitment through a series of grants totaling $1.75 million to organizations working on behalf of Black communities in seven U.S. cities: New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Memphis, St. Louis and Portland. In honor of Black History Month, Nike’s Social & Community Impact team hosted an event with Nike employees to highlight the announcement of the Black Community Commitment NYC portfolio. Attendees will hear from two local leaders from this portfolio that are driving impact in their communities. There was a discussion around the issues affecting black New Yorkers, Nike's Black Community Commitment and how Nike employees could get engaged in the work of Nike’s newest partners in NYC. As part of Nike’s commitment to work with diverse suppliers, dinner was provided, and supplied from a local Black-owned restaurant.
