The Smith Home - Mercury Courtyrd

The Mercury Courtyard is a charming cloister now dominated by the statue of Mercury, the mythical messenger of the gods. It’s surrounded by a vaulted loggia with Tuscan columns and grilled Italian windows. Each parterre is planted with a different species of ground cover. The loggia is enhanced with seasonal plants displayed in terra cotta pots imported from Italy, including a large fig tree. In 2018, Galerie magazine named the Mercury Courtyard one of the eight most beautiful museum courtyards in the nation.
