Overview

A truly unique setting with old-world grandeur. The grandest room in the Club opened in 1905 as part of the first building expansion. It originally served as the Dining Room. Designed by Charles F. McKim of McKim Mead & White, it is 90’ long and has a 40’ ceiling, evoking Palladian inspired 17th century English architecture. The Flemish tapestries are early 18th century and depict scenes of the Triumphs of Alexander the Great. The mounted African elephant head was donated by Club member William Sewall, Class of 1897, in 1909.
