Launched in March 2016 with the support of Ravi Coltrane, Bird's Basement has quickly become Melbourne's preeminent jazz destination and a worthy counterpart to the iconic Birdland in New York. Before the show, we invite you to indulge in a pre-dinner cocktail at the Jazz Corner Bar located above Bird's Basement at the entrance of 352 William St. It's the perfect way to start your evening off on a high note. Bird's Basement is a multifaceted establishment that serves as a restaurant, bar, and music venue. Due to high demand, we strongly recommend that you make your reservations well in advance as our venue often sells out on most nights.
