The property that CityPlace stands on has a diverse history. What is now Pavilion 1 was formerly a Southern States agricultural supply store. Over time Southern States moved out, and the property became an abandoned eyesore with deteriorating structures. In 2014, the Rawlings Foundation purchased and renovated the campus breathing new life and purpose into the space. The construction of Pavilion 2 made the event space complete. The campus has become a gateway to the City of LaGrange and a hub of community activity. The sophisticated design of CityPlace intertwines its rustic roots with a modern, industrial feel.
