Recently, Campus Martius Park was named the No. 1 "Top Public Square" in the U.S. by USA Today and has won countless awards for public space design, management, operations, placemaking and programming. In the heart of Downtown, Campus Martius Park is Detroit’s Gathering Place for both residents and visitors. This famous park was created in 2003 at the site of Detroit’s point of origin located at 0 miles, where the vision for the city’s plan was originally laid out by Augustus Woodward in 1805.
